Hexham Hospital Maternity Ward - Digital Aquaria

An audio-visual installation for Hexham Hospital Maternity Ward, Northumberland.
Originally the hospital had intended to use live aquaria, however this proved not to be practical. Heritage Multimedia Ltd were commissioned to provide an alternative solution that was indistinguishable from real aquaria and deliverable within the hospital environment.
Utilising the latest DVD technology video is delivered from a remote AV control booth to five 50" plasma screens located throughout the reception area. As part of the requirement the system is capable of being integrated with our Wayfinding solutions.
Heritage Multimedia worked with the main hospital contractor, the NHS Trust and subcontractors to specify, develop and commission the complete installation. The end result promotes a calm and relaxed environment for staff and patients in the ward.
